Yeah, ddr. Crazy, I didn't see this. Over the years I've loved to hear Belafonte speak and had a serious crush on his daughter ;). Common is unquestionably the greatest conscious force in hip hop...Nas withstanding. 1-9-9-9 with Sadat X is making my speakers pop this very second. I Used to Love H.E.R. is still very relevant and should be given its proper historical credit.

Respiration with Mos, Talib and Common is the track my kids will remember most when they reminisce about the car ride.

Tres--no offense, that part of your moniker sticks out--There are two tracks that come to mind when referencing Pac: So Much Pain, and Shed So Many Tears....He was at odds with himself--as we all are--publicly. The brotha had this fireball Black Panther deep in his raging soul and fought its existence to the very end. A true enigma. You just knew he wanted to be part of something..just didn't have anyone in the game to run with. Very unfortunate. If you remember Puffy sugar Diddy coated anything and everything with his remix bullshit. Damnit Mase!

Pac rode with the devil and heard hell's bells.

When he was alive, I had a dream of Pac the Black Nationalist--in full African garb--commentating on his weekly radio show. His nemesis or true lack thereof, was David Duke. They would battle across the airwaves about the destruction of civilization and who was truly at fault. The humor was seeing his producer wipe Pac's saliva of the on the air sign. I miss the brotha's potential dearly. I would have loved to see the Black Moses in Pac materialize. Who will be next?

as much as i find ebony and jet expensive toilet paper, i have to cop this one. i delivered hundreds of copies of these magazines per week.

i feel belafonte on this one. i am thankful that my elders stay on me big time.

i disagree with 'Pac. i feel he created his own persona that eventually caused his demise. there are other heads that live in the 'hood that maintain respect. Pac created this Thug Life image that he really wasn't. alot of people called him out on it.
